It would be nice if there was a way to judge reader engagement. Obviously, getting comments would be ideal, but I'm getting the sense that that's a pipe dream. I try not to tilt at windmills, so I'll just gracefully surrender that hope. Even the 'thumbs up' would be a help to judge the success of a story, but with 75 views, I've only gotten two of those. I hesitate to infer that means the majority of responses are disinterested, but some part of me (my internal Critic) feels that's quite likely. So, it would be nice to be able to determine reader engagement by some measure, like actual time spent in the story. Impossible to implement? Or, just something that requires some serious capital investment...for a free website, that means pretty much the same thing, doesn't it?
