I don't know if I have mentioned this before, but my mother suffers from dementia. She has gradually gotten worse over the years. Something I have noticed that absolutely burns me up is that her family has practically dropped her like a hot potato since she's become ill. She used to be very active in her church and spent lots of time with her siblings going to church and other family get togethers and she so enjoyed that. But now, they don't even invite her anymore. I get that they do not want to deal with taking her places themselves, but honestly she is not so bad yet that she cannot go out to public places and do okay. I would gladly take her to any of the functions she used to take part in if they would just let me know when they are. Instead, they just go ahead and have them and post about the fun they had afterwards on social media. I just will never understand how your own family can just stop caring when you need love and support the most. :(
